According to police, Mario Acevedo, 18, of Colonial Heritage Park, was eastbound shortly after 10 p.m. Nov. 23 “when he lost control of his vehicle.”

Police said Acevedo struck a utility pole head-on, breaking a section out of it.

Acevedo’s vehicle then rolled onto its side and came to rest “right side up off the edge of the roadway,” the news release said.

Springtown Hill Road was temporarily closed while the utility pole was replaced, and Acevedo–although uninjured–was taken to St. Luke’s University Hospital for an evaluation, police said.
