Two bear sightings were reported in Lower Saucon Township Friday morning.
A black bear was reported in a driveway in the village by Erica Pursell, who said she notified police about the bruin who was last seen lumbering east toward Springtown.
Another reader, Adrienne Pauling, shared a photo of a bear that was spotted by a birdfeeder near Springtown Hill Road Friday morning.
“Please do not approach the bear (and) keep animals and children away,” police advised residents.
Police also recommended that residents secure their birdfeeders and trash cans, which are often attractive objects for hungry bears.
“If you do not bother the bear it will just wander away,” police said.
The Pennsylvania Game Commission has been notified of the sightings, authorities added.
