Q & A With Evan Culver
- Last season, you ran for over 1700 yards and scored 20+ touchdowns, leading the Panthers to the District 11 Championship game. Coming into this year, what were your goals as an individual for this season? What were your team goals?
Coming into the season I wanted the team to just keep improving and be better than we were last season. Personally, I wanted to come out and make an impact right away and do whatever I can to help us win games.
- You are a fun player to watch. On any given play, you can take it the distance for a touchdown. Is there a player out there that you try to emulate or look up to?
I love Marshawn Lynch. I try my best to play like him. I watch his highlights every Thursday night before bed.
- Coaching you for 3-4 years was always a pleasure. It didn’t matter if we were in the weight room on a Tuesday in December or playing for a league championship, you were always enjoying yourself. Is there someone that influences you to enjoy the process?
I grew up watching my uncle play at the collegiate level and he was always having a lot of fun and it made it seem like that made the game come a lot easier. I try to have that mentality when I play.
Notable Achievements
Senior Tennis Player Katya Yeager. Katya had a tremendous finish to the regular season by beating her opponent in straight sets vs. Notre Dame-Green Pond (6-1, 6-0), and against Pen Argyl (6-0, 6-0). Katya ended the season with a 12 match winning streak and finishing with a 15-1 record!
Sophomore Cross Country Runner Ethan Bernstein. Ethan took first place at a Moravian Academy meet, which gave him his first career league meet victory (and, according to Coach Kolosky, there will be many more to come). Ethan’s time over the 5,000 meter course was a new personal record for him of 16 minutes and 48 seconds!
Girls Volleyball players Brittany Yeahl and Brynn Bambu. Brittany had an amazing week with her serving that kept the Panthers in the game. She also had a great offense, despite battling injuries to her lower back and a broken thumb. Brynn was on fire with her outstanding defense and her quickness to get to every ball. Without her defense, the Panthers would not have been able to generate an offense.
