Last night against the Bangor Slaters, Saucon Valley senior Evan Culver (#3) touched the ball seven times and scored five touchdowns.  He amassed a total of 242 rushing yards. Culver averaged 35-yards per carry. The Panthers followed Culver’s lead to a 61-13 victory.  It was total DOMINATION.

Junior Nate Kehs (#32) is Culver’s primary back-up.  He had 6 carries for 67 yards.  He averaged 11-yards per carry.  DOMINATION.

Sophomore Steven Rose (#34) is Keh’s back-up.  He carried 8 times for 74 yards.  Rose averaged over 9-yards per carry.  DOMINATION.

Panther quarterback, senior Zach Thatcher (#7), was 5 of 5 for 122 yards passing including an 18 yard touchdown pass to senior tight end Mike Kane (#82).  Senior Nate Harka (#21) was the recipient of three other Thatcher passes for 87-yards.  Harka averaged 29-yards per catch.  DOMINATION.

Last night other Panthers touched the football and it just did not seem to make a difference who it was.  The result was always the same.  It was DOMINATION.  Behind the HOGS (Steven Good, Trey Polak, Ryan Meyers, Devan VanVliet and Cody Zrinski), the Panther offense tallied 487 total yards and scored 55 first half points. Is it realistically possible to be any more dominant in a football game?

Not to be outdone, the Saucon defense was equally dominant.  They were lights-out giving up only a total of 141 yards and 8 first downs to the Slaters.  Saucon’s stingy defense also claimed five turnovers.  Sophomore cornerback, Alstan Wolfe (#5) had two interceptions while Ryan Meyers (#74), Joe Naiburg (#11), and Curtis Clifford (#49) each claimed a fumble recovery.

Bangor was able to get on the scoreboard for a couple of late, fourth quarter touchdowns by starting running backs Jesse Rocco and Saivaughan Vass. Rocco scampered in from 35 yards against the Panther reserves while Vass took a 1-yard plunge to end all scoring.  All said and done it was a 61-13 DOMINANT performance by the Saucon Valley Panthers

Bottled up and nowhere to go

Bangor’s Saivaughan Vass finds himself bottled up with nowhere to go in the 1st Quarter of last night’s 61-13 Panther victory.

As dominant as the Panthers have been this season, they will now face their biggest challenge.  Notre Dame (Green Pond)/Pius X will roll into Hellertown on Friday night with a little swagger of their own.  The Crusaders have built an 8-0 record and have dominated their opponents in almost the same convincing fashion as the Panthers.  This game will be for the Colonial League championship.  This game will be for an undefeated season.  At this stage of the season, it doesn’t get any bigger than this.  Saucon Source will be on hand to cover the whistle to whistle action and we hope to see you there!  GO PANTHERS!

Note:  Advance ticket purchases are available through the SVSD Athletic office and are highly suggested.  There will be VERY long ticket lines on game night for this championship showdown.
