YoFresh Yogurt Cafe opened for business in the Shoppes at Hellertown on Main Street Thursday.

The business was originally slated to open in late spring, but construction-related delays and other issues pushed back the opening for months.

Store manager Lisa Jones said Friday the owners–franchisees Donna and Paul Novak–and staff are relieved and happy to finally be open, and grateful for the community’s patience.20151106_165814

Since the opening at 2 p.m. Thursday foot traffic has been steady, she said, with many shoppers and employees from other businesses in the shopping center stopping by to welcome YoFresh to the neighborhood and sample their offerings.

YoFresh offers about a dozen different flavors of frozen yogurt and toppings sold by weight.

Some of the current flavors include pumpkin, cheesecake, root beer float, pistachio, vanilla, strawberry and chocolate, and visitors are invited to sample them before filling up a cup. Cups are available in several different sizes.20151106_165837

Jones said YoFresh has more than 100 flavors in its frozen yogurt lineup, and new flavors will be introduced periodically at the Hellertown store. In the future, she said, they also hope to offer gelato.

Toppings include cookie crumbles, fresh fruit, berries, pound cake pieces, hot fudge, nuts, shredded coconut, chocolate candies, cherries, whipped cream and more.20151106_172519

Coffee, soda and baked goods are also available for purchase, and with cold weather approaching the cafe will soon begin offering two different hot soups each day, Jones said.

Decorated frozen yogurt cakes are another item that will be available for purchase in the future.

In addition to seating in the front of the store, there is a room in the back that has tables and chairs. Eventually this room–which is equipped with a flatscreen TV and decorated with Saucon Valley Panther-themed art–will be available for hosting private parties, Jones explained during a tour.20151106_165712

Original art by a local artist decorates the pink walls in the store, which has a bright, cheery decor.

YoFresh offers customers the opportunity to earn rewards through its “The Sweet Spot Loyalty Club” punch card program. A punch is received for each purchase of $4 or more, and after nine punches the card holder is eligible to receive one frozen yogurt (maximum size of 10 ounces) for free.

YoFresh Yogurt Cafe is located at 9 Main St., Hellertown, and is open Monday through Thursday from 11:30 a.m. to 9 p.m., Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., Saturday from 11 a.m. to 10:30 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.

The store’s phone number is 484-851-8005. The business also has a Facebook page, which as of Saturday already had 300 likes and a handful of five-star reviews.
