Saturday will be one of the biggest days in recent memory for many Panther sports fans, as Saucon Valley’s 11-0 varsity football team (#3) will travel an hour north to take on the Lehighton Area Indians (#1) for the District XI championship title and the opportunity to advance to state championship-level play.
The game is at 7 p.m., and gates will open at 5:30 p.m.
A large contingent of hometown supporters is expected to make the journey to Lehighton, where the stadium is located at 200 Beaver Run Road.
The recommended route to reach the Lehighton stadium is via I-78 west and the Pennsylvania Turnpike’s Northeast Extension.
DIRECTIONS FROM THE PA TURNPIKE NE EXTENSION TO THE STADIUM:
After exiting onto Route 209 South at the Mahoning Valley interchange on the turnpike, take Interchange Road (Rt. 209) south over the McCall Bridge across the Lehigh River. Get in the center lane on the bridge and bare left on Route 443 at light. Once on Route 443, continue through a stoplight and at the second light make a right onto S. Ninth Street. Proceed five blocks north to Mahoning Street. Turn left onto Mahoning Street and proceed one block to the intersection at Beaver Run Road. Turn right onto Beaver Run Road where the stadium is located. Just past the stadium on the right are three parking lots.

Adult tickets are $6 in advance and student/senior tickets are $3 in advance. All tickets sold at the stadium gates Saturday will be $6.
Saturday’s high temperature is forecast to be in the mid 40s and the low temperature Saturday night is expected to be in the low 30s.
