An Allentown woman was cited for failure to use child safety restraints in a vehicle after Lower Saucon Township Police say she drove a car with a small child seated in her lap Monday.

Police said in a news release that they located Aleta Detoma, of the 1400 block of E. Susquehanna Street, after a caller reported seeing her driving a gold Hyundai at around 6 p.m.

The “caller was concerned for the welfare of the small child not restrained in the proper car seat,” police said, adding that Detoma later “admitted to driving (the) vehicle without having the child in the proper car seat.”

Detoma was also cited for driving with an expired inspection and driving with an expired registration, the news release indicated.
