A well-known Main Street business was the target of a burglary at approximately 5:45 a.m. Thursday, Hellertown Police said in a news release.

Yeager’s Pharmacy at 654 Main St. was broken into and several controlled substances were stolen, they said.

Several Saucon Source readers said a front window of the store was apparently smashed by the burglar.

According to police, the unidentified male suspect in the burglary is white, approximately 5 feet 5 inches to 5 feet 8 inches tall, and was wearing a dark hoodie, dark pants or jeans and a grey backpack at the time of the break-in.

He is believed to have suffered lacerations to one or both of his hands, they added.

Police said they have store surveillance footage of the incident, but that its quality is too poor to be converted into useful still images.

Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call borough police at 610-759-2200.
