After a hot, humid July, temperatures have cooled off a bit since August began, but they’re forecast to climb into the lower 90s again during the second half of Musikfest, according to the National Weather Service’s Monday forecast.
“Heat index values may approach or exceed 100 degrees on Thursday, Friday and Saturday,” the NWS said in a Hazardous Weather Outlook statement Monday.
The heat index is a measurement of how hot it actually feels, which takes into account both air temperature and relative humidity.
Wednesday’s forecast high temperature is 87 degrees; Thursday’s forecast high is 92; Friday’s forecast high is 93; Saturday’s forecast high is 92; and Sunday’s forecast high is 89. Evening lows will be in the lower 70s, according to the NWS forecast.
Beginning Wednesday, there is also a 30-40 percent chance of thunderstorms each day.
Musikfest continues in Bethlehem through Sunday, Aug. 14.
