There is a sharp 'S' curve in Black River Road at Cedar Lane, near the Lower Saucon Township-Salisbury Township border. Police say the turn was the scene of a hit-and-run single vehicle accident Thursday night.

Lower Saucon Township Police said Friday they hope to identify the driver of a vehicle responsible for a single-vehicle hit-and-run accident on Black River Road near Cedar Lane Thursday night.

In a news release, police said the driver of the light-colored sedan lost control of it in part of the sharp “S” turn near 2293 Black River Road at about 8:20 p.m., and lost transmission fluid at the scene of the crash.

Undercarriage damage was also sustained by the car, police said, and a mailbox was damaged as the driver backed up while attempting to get back on the road.

Police said a witness obtained a possible vehicle registration number of “JPI6860” before the car continued eastbound on Black River Road.

Anyone with information about the driver’s identity is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
