Roger William Sotak, 75, of Springfield Township, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Sarah A. (Reimer) Sotak.

Roger William Sotak, 75, of Springfield Township, Bucks County, died Saturday, Nov. 12, 2016 at his residence. He was the husband of Sarah A. (Reimer) Sotak. He was born in North Whitehall Township on Sept. 25, 1941 to the late John Stephen and Catherine (Shattick) Sotak. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Army as a Sergeant during the Vietnam War (1966-67). He was a life member of the VFW. He was a member of St. Isidore Roman Catholic Church, Quakertown and a 1959 graduate of Parkland High School. He earned a Mechanical Engineering degree from Villanova University. He was a member of the Tau Beta Pi. He was a former treasurer and former member of the Palisades School Board for 15 years. Roger was a member of the 1963 Bethlehem Loop Course. He worked at Bethlehem Steel’s Sparrows Point Plant and later the Bethlehem Plant, where he retired as a Superintendent for the Saucon Standard Structural Rolling Mills.

SURVIVORS:

In addition to his wife of 46 years; children: Geoffrey C. of Quakertown and his daughter Bryanna (Jake) Weaver; Jennifer L. (Gene) Stalnecker and their children Travis and Alexandra; siblings: Gloria Buckwalter Mosser, Richard (Matilda) Sotak, Gerald Sotak. He was predeceased by brothers: John Jr. and Donald.

SERVICE

Family and close friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 18, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Springfield Township.
