On the sixth day of highlighting Panther football record holders, Saucon Source wants to recognize senior Kory Kemmerer.

Playing safety and receiver for the Panthers, Kory wore #4. He stands 5’11” and weighs 180. This past season on offense he had 15 catches for 202 yards. Defensively, Kory is credited with earning 24 tackles and 24 assists. He also defended seven passes successfully and gathered 3 interceptions. Kory’s 2016 offensive and defensive efforts earned him 2nd Team All Colonial League as a receiver and defensive back.

Kory was a defensive playmaker for the Panthers throughout his years. Consequently, he is now found in a few different places within the Saucon Valley record books. First, Kory’s 53 assisted tackles in a career earns him 8th on that list. Second, Kory had 7 passes defended in both the 2015 and 2016 seasons, which puts him in the 8th and 9th spots for passes defended in a season, respectively. Finally, his 6 career interceptions (2013-2016) is good for 5th all-time.

Who’s #1 for assisted tackles in a season? Christian Carvis (2015) claimed 82 assists.

Who’s #1 for passes defended in a season? Josh Hough (2011) had 13 passes defended.

Who’s #1 for passes defended in a career? Justin Propsner (2011-2014) had 23 passes defended in his career.

Who’s #1 for interceptions in a career? Justin Propsner (2011-2014) had 10 career interceptions.

Kory said it: “I have to say one of my favorite memories from this season was the Notre Dame game. Not because of the game I had, but because of the way our team came together to win. It takes all 11 players on the field to win and all 11 definitely stepped up and played. Definitely my favorite memory of all my years playing football!”

Coach Sams said it: “Kory Kemmerer became a two-way starter his senior year after being the starting strong safety his junior season. Kory was an extremely smart player on defense who we depended on making a lot of coverage calls on his own. He played the game with an edge not many players have. Furthermore, he was an underrated receiver who made big plays when his number was called.”

Congratulations, Kory, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
