On the seventh day of showcasing Panther football record holders, Saucon Source wants to recognize senior Stephen Good.

Wearing #65, the 1st Team All Colonial League center is listed at 5’10”, 200. Stephen also earned 2016 Colonial League recognition for his tough play as an inside linebacker. Offensively, he was “Boss Hog,” paving the way for a potent Panther rushing attack. Defensively, he wrapped up 45 tackles and 47 assists. Seven of those hits were for loss and three of them were quarterback sacks.

Taking full advantage of being the man in the middle of the Panther defense, Stephen now finds himself throughout the Saucon Valley football record books. This past season his 45 solo tackles and 47 tackle assists are good for 10th and 4th respectively. In addition, his 3 sacks during the 2016 season gets him into the 7th spot. Finally, 51 tackle assists throughout his career (2013-2016) are good enough for 9th overall.

Who’s #1 for solo tackles in a season? Ian Gimbar (2007-2010) had 99 solo tackles.

Who’s #1 for assisted tackles in a season? Christian Carvis (2015) gathered 82 assists.

Who’s #1 for sacks in a season? Kevin Branco (2003) is listed with 10 sacks in a season.

Who’s #1 for tackle assists in a career? Christian Carvis (2012-2015) had 129 career assists.

Stephen said it: “My best Saucon Valley football memory is when we became district champions along our route to being state semi-finalists.”

Coach Phil Sams said it: “Stephen Good was a key two-way starter for us. Playing center and middle linebacker is not an easy task and not only did he do this, but he excelled at it. Stephen was a vocal leader who was also one of the hardest working players on the football team. He displayed great leadership from all angles.”

Congratulations, Stephen, and best wishes in the future. The Source is with you!
