Herbert L. Hoff, 86, of Upper Black Eddy, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Doylestown Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Arlene S. (Schaible) Hoff.

Herbert L. Hoff, 86, of Upper Black Eddy, died Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at Doylestown Hospital. He was the devoted husband of Arlene S. (Schaible) Hoff. He was born in Flushing, N.Y., on April 23, 1930 to the late Franklin R. and Leona (Judd) Hoff. Herbert entered the U.S. Army after graduating from high school. He served our country faithfully in the Korean War and during three tours in Vietnam as a Special Forces Green Beret. He retired after 24 years of service as a Command Sergeants Major. After retiring he and his wife moved from Fayetteville, N.C., to Upper Black Eddy. Herbert was a 32nd Degree Mason.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife; sons: Herbert L. (Ana E.) Hoff Jr. of Northampton, James T. Hoff and his companion Nadine Purcel of Upper Black Eddy; brother: Thomas F. Hoff of Remington, Va.; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild. He was predeceased by sister: Leona Estes.

SERVICE
