A Lower Saucon Township man was struck and knocked to the ground by a passing minivan as he stood outside his vehicle at the intersection of Countryside Lane and Easton Road Thursday morning, township police said in a news release.

According to police, Tim Walters, of the 2500 block of Applebutter Road, “realized the vehicle was not stopping” but “was unable to get out of the way prior to being struck” at about 8:50 a.m.

The vehicle that hit him is described as a light grey Honda Odyssey minivan with a Pennsylvania registration plate (unknown number).

Police said the minivan had passed another vehicle on Countryside before striking Walters, and “fled at a high rate of speed on Easton Road towards Hellertown” after he was knocked down.

Walters suffered minor injuries to his left arm when the passenger side mirror struck it but refused medical treatment, police said.

Anyone with information about the vehicle and its driver is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
