The Boil Water Notice that was in effect for some Hellertown Borough Authority water system customers beginning Thursday has been lifted, the HBA announced late Saturday.

“The results of system sampling and analysis over two consecutive days by a certified laboratory have confirmed that there are no harmful bacteria in the water,” administrator Glenn Higbie said in a statement, which he said was also being relayed to customers via the authority’s telephone alert system.

The Boil Water Notice was in effect for Hellertown’s Mountainview neighborhood, where a leaking water line valve had to be replaced at Constitution Avenue and Magnolia Road.

If customers have any questions, they should contact the Authority Office during business hours at 610-838-8051.
