Man Who Caused Accident Had .28 BAC, Charged With DUI, Police Say

A Nazareth man who caused an accident in the 3900 block of Rt. 378 was allegedly more than three times over the legal blood alcohol limit at the time, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Saturday.

A Nazareth man who caused an accident in the 3900 block of Rt. 378 was allegedly more than three times over the legal blood alcohol limit at the time, Lower Saucon Township Police said in a news release Saturday.

According to police, Erwin Wimmer, no age provided, of the first block of Friedenstahl Avenue, was driving a Ford Ranger pickup truck northbound when he left his lane of travel and struck two parked vehicles shortly after 8:15 p.m. May 12.

Police said Wimmer’s blood alcohol concentration was determined to be .28 percent.

The legal limit for most drivers is .08 percent.

Wimmer has been charged with DUI and “other related traffic offenses,” police said.
