Whistles and barking coaches could be heard Thursday evening echoing from the Saucon Valley High School football practice field.  From afar, you might have thought it was the Panthers hard at work refining their gridiron skills. But, up close, you’d see it was actually the Panther Moms battling through a football practice session consisting of selected drills and skills.

For the third consecutive season, Coach Sams along with his staff and players continued the tradition of introducing and educating the “Mom Squad” to the rigors of high school football.  About two dozen willing mothers fought the hot and humid weather conditions to enthusiastically take part in the activities.

“It is one of our best turnouts,” Coach Sams noted.  “They are an extremely hard-working group who all get along.  You can see why our players have such a great work ethic.  Their work ethic stems from the women in their lives.”
