Andrea Marie (Jelensits) Romig, 46, of Allentown, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown. She was the wife of Richard R. Romig Jr.

Andrea Marie (Jelensits) Romig, 46, of Allentown, died Tuesday, Aug. 8, 2017 at Lehigh Valley Hospice Inpatient Unit, Allentown. She was the wife of Richard R. Romig Jr. She was born in Allentown on Oct. 10, 1970 to Frank Jr. and Madeline (Ionno) Jelensits of North Whitehall Township. She was a 1988 graduate of William Allen High School and a 1992 graduate of Bloomsburg University. Andrea worked as a social worker for the County of Lehigh from 1995 until her illness. Andrea worked in the Adoption Unit, finalizing adoptions of children, and then in the Office of Aging, helping needy seniors receive essential services. She was a member of The Cathedral Church of Saint Catharine of Siena, Allentown.

SURVIVORS

In addition to her parents and husband of 6 years; daughter: Alexandra G. Romig, at home; brother: Brian D. Jelensits of Shrewsbury, Vt.; in-laws: Richard R. Sr. and Ardythe A. (Latshaw) Romig of Allentown.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Monday, Aug. 14, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 4906 Rt. 309, Schnecksville. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10:30 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Resurrection Cemetery, Allentown. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home, Hellertown.
