Helen Pecsek Ballek, 92, formerly of Riegelsville, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. She was the wife of the late Peter Ballek Jr.

Helen Pecsek Ballek, 92, formerly of Riegelsville, died Sunday, Oct. 15, 2017 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. She was the wife of the late Peter Ballek Jr. She was born in Bethlehem on Oct. 27, 1924 to the late Frank and Irma (Banko) Pecsek. Helen and her husband operated their family dairy farm for many years. She was employed by B. Braun Medical Co. until her retirement. She was a former member of St. John’s Windish Lutheran Church and the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Durham. Helen was a graduate of Liberty High School and attended Moravian College, where she was a member of the field hockey team.

SURVIVORS

Children: Perry and wife Geraldine of Parkton, Md., Haldan, Wesley and his companion Susan Del Re, all of Riegelsville; grandchildren: Kimberly Rotter and husband Scott of Ellicott City, Md., Alan Ballek and wife Kerry of Freeland, Md.; great-grandchildren: Daniel and Zachary Rotter of Ellicott City, Md. She was predeceased by siblings: Mary Szmodis, Irene Zelko, Joseph Pecsek.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 9 to 10 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 21, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 10 a.m. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at www.heintzelmancares.com.
