FC STEEL Moving Forward On Right Track

FC Steel, the Lehigh Valley’s newest premier youth soccer organization in a continuing effort to provide an elite level of soccer for players in Eastern Pensylvania, announced its management team for the club moving forward.  FC Steel President and Saucon Valley resident Christian Kittelstad, who formed the club in early September, made the announcement recently.

FC Steel, the Lehigh Valley’s newest premier youth soccer organization in a continuing effort to provide an elite level of soccer for players in Eastern Pensylvania, announced its management team for the club moving forward.  FC Steel President and Saucon Valley resident Christian Kittelstad, who formed the club in early September, made the announcement recently.

Kittelstad announced the hiring of Ray Canevari as Director of Soccer and Director of Girls.  Kittelstad also announced that Tyler Fenstermacher will assume the role of Director of Coaching and Youth Development Director.  Finally, he announced that Myles Dowling was named as Boys Director and Director of Goalkeeping.

Ray Canevari

Canevari, who is no stranger to Lehigh Valley soccer, comes to the Club with 35 years of coaching experience and a USSF “C” license.  His journey includes stops in Texas and California.  While in Texas, Canevari’s Solar teams won 33 championships during a seven year stretch.  His ’00 Girls were ranked #3 and his ’03 Girls #1 in North Texas.  Canevari’s Solar ’03 team included U16 national team players Lexi Missimo, Olivia Pena and Trinity Byars.  Missimo is the #1 ranked 2021 girls recruit in the nation according to Top Drawer soccer.  In California, Canevari’s West Coast Fury were the #1 ranked team in the state in 2015 and were State Cup finalists.  They also held a #24 national ranking.  Most recently, Canevari was back in Texas coaching the U16 Solar Girls Development Academy team which includes Byars and Missimo and the U19 Solar Girls ECNL team.

Fenstermacher was a Regional All-American, All-State, All-Area, and All-Conference player out of Emmaus High School.  He holds the all-time assist record at Emmaus.  He was also the Morning Call’s Player of the Year in 2007.  After high school Tyler was a scholarship player for four years at Mount Saint Mary’s University in Maryland. He spent some time playing semi-professional soccer at the NPSL level for three seasons before coaching stints at DeSales University and his high school alma mater.  Fenstermacher has 10 years of experience coaching a variety of Club teams in the Lehigh Valley and in Maryland.  Tyler has a true passion for teaching the game no matter the age.

FC Steel ’06 Boys in action

Myles Dowling has played on top-tier teams in Eastern Pennsylvania including Super Nova FC, FC Bucks, and AC Perugia.  He was a goal-keeper on the EPYSA ODP ’88s winning the Region 1 tournament in 2001 and a four-year starter at Moravian Academy winning multiple Colonial league and District XI titles.  Dowling earned All-League and All-Area honors before being recruited to play for Drew University.  Most recently, Dowling has been working as the Director of Goalkeeping with the Lower Macungie Youth Association and North Parkland.
