Violet R. (Kolchin) Bartakovits, 96, of Lower Saucon Township, died Tuesday, Nov. 7, 2017 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. She was the wife of the late Joseph C. Bartakovits (died June 30, 1997). She was born in Shenandoah on Aug. 30, 1921 to the late Peter and Eva (Woytovich) Kolchin. Violet was a bookkeeper for her husband at Joseph C. Bartakovits Contracting and at the former W.T. Grant Department Store. She was a faithful member of the Assumption of the BVM Roman Catholic Church, Bethlehem (Colesville).
Daughters: Charlotte B. (John A.) Pavis of Lower Saucon Township, Patricia J. (Robert T.) Cinalli of New Hope and Joanne M. McAuley of Havre de Grace, Md.; siblings: John (Barbara) Kolchin of Dallas, Antoinette Lebeduik of Easton; 10 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her sister: Anna Mellin.
Family and friends are invited to call from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 18, 2017 at Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at Assumption of the BVM Catholic Church, 4101 Old Bethlehem Pike, Bethlehem.
