Albert C. ‘Boots’ Hoffert, 87, of Lower Saucon Township, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Albert C. “Boots” Hoffert, 87, of Lower Saucon Township, died Tuesday, Dec. 5, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Janet R. (Judd) Hoffert. Albert was born in Fountain Hill on April 13, 1930 to the late Herbert G.C. and Stella M. (Hinkel) Hoffert. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War, earning the rank of Sergeant. Boots worked as a plumbing and heating salesman for HAJOCA, Bethlehem, and Service Supply Company, Allentown, until his retirement. He was a member of First UCC, Hellertown, a life member and past president of Hiawatha Hunting Club, a life member and past president and board member of Hellertown Sportsmen’s Association and a life member of Hellertown Historical Society.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife of 66 years; children: Janice M. (Frank Jr.) Csrnko of Bethlehem Township, Glenn A. (Kathy DiGiesi) of Hellertown; grandson: Christopher S. (Carmen Brubaker); great-granddaughter: Wren Willow; step-granddaughters: Marissa and Krista DiGiesi; step-great-grandson: Waylon Bo Bundy. He was predeceased by siblings: Grant H. Hoffert, Catherine Rothenberger, Flora Bachman and Calvert Unangst.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 8, 2017 and 9:30 to 10 a.m. Saturday at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour Saturday will be followed by the service at 10 a.m. Military Honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397.
