Jewelry Store Employee Stole Diamond Ring and Pawned It, Police Say

A Whitehall man is charged with felony theft and receiving stolen property, after police say he allegedly stole a diamond ring worth nearly $9,000 from the Upper Saucon Township jewelry store where he was employed, according to a Channel 69 news story published Wednesday.

According to the article, Shiwalla Singh, 23, of Fuller Street, was working at Kay Jewelers in the Promenade Shops at Saucon Valley Jan. 4 when he allegedly stole the ring, which police say he admitted to later pawning for $1,000 at an Allentown pawn shop, where it was recovered by store security.

Singh was committed to the Lehigh County Jail in lieu of $5,000 following a preliminary arraignment Tuesday, according to court records.
