Changes are coming to the Saucon Source newsletter and Saucon Source wants you to be part of the journey.

Saucon Source has a free email newsletter you can subscribe to and conveniently receive in your inbox every Monday, Wednesday and Friday morning. Many of you are already subscribed, while others of you may have subscribed and unsubscribed in the past. Many more of you may think that subscribing to a newsletter is unnecessary because of this website’s very active Facebook page, on which most content is shared.

Please, think again.

Subscribing to the newsletter is more important than ever because of news feed changes recently announced by Facebook that are likely to impact the way in which you see Saucon Source posts. These changes are being made by Facebook for several reasons, including criticism some have leveled against the company for its role in the proliferation of so-called “fake news.” The changes are beyond the control of digital news publishers, although they could affect our industry greatly. You can lessen their impact on your family’s local news and information stream by broadening your horizons to include a newsletter subscription.

Why a Newsletter?

  1. Convenience: A newsletter is an alternative, convenient way to get all the news you need. With the recent algorithm changes announced by Facebook–changes that are expected to affect the way in which and how much news content you see in your personal Facebook feeds–subscribing to our newsletter will help ensure that you’ll never miss seeing another important local news story. Read more about the changes here: http://on.wsj.com/2rvAc5N.
  2. Events: The updated newsletter features a handy local events section, so you can quickly and easily see what’s posted on our community calendar.
  3. Security: Your information is safe and secure with Saucon Source. We will never sell or trade your email address, and you can unsubscribe/resubscribe to the newsletter at any time.
  4. More features: In the future Saucon Source plans to introduce additional features–such as local deals, classified advertising and exclusive content–all of which will be exclusive to the newsletter. As our subscriber base grows, we’ll continue to develop the newsletter and possibly expand its frequency of delivery as well.

Subscribing to the newsletter is quick and easy, and in the near future we’ll be making it even easier by adding sign-up fields and friendly reminders for readers on the site. Please subscribe today and keep reading your local news, when and where you want to.

Thank you for your readership and continued support.

Sincerely,

Josh Popichak
