A New Jersey man is facing DUI charges after Hellertown police say he was allegedly found to be under the influence of alcohol after being stopped in the course of a hit-and-run investigation early Feb. 24.

In a news release issued earlier this month, police said Steven Corcoran, 47, of the 300 block of Church Road, Milford, was stopped at Main Street and Kichline Avenue at 2:45 a.m. and “placed under arrest for suspicion of operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.”

According to court records, Corcoran is charged with DUI (first offense), DUI-Highest Rate of Alcohol (BAC of .16 or higher, first offense) and causing an accident involving damage to attended vehicle/property, all of which are misdemeanors.

A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for April 12 at 3 p.m. before District Judge Alan Mege at the Lower Saucon Township district court.
