The following information regarding outdoor burning is from Lower Saucon Township. For questions about local regulations regarding burning, contact the township at 610-865-3291.
With the arrival of spring, the urge to get outside and spruce up will start to become a reality. We would like to remind you that the township encourages residents to utilize the Saucon Valley Compost Center to dispose of your brush and yard waste (no grass clippings).
However, if you do choose to burn your brush, please keep in mind several factors when doing so.
In accordance with the township’s nuisance ordinance, the burning of any domestic refuse is prohibited, and any burning activity that causes an odor or smoke to travel across property boundaries which would be determined a nuisance to an ordinary individual is also prohibited.
Anyone who is aware of these instances occurring should contact township police via their non-emergency numberĀ (610-759-2200) to make a report.
As always, residents are urged to be mindful of weather conditions and contact their local fire company to notify them that they plan to burn. Residents should not burn during dry or windy weather conditions.
