Boyd C. Flickinger, 90, of Springfield Township, formerly of Mifflintown, died Saturday, May 12, 2018 at the VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. He was the loving husband of Margaret “Peggy” (Martin). Boyd was born in Port Royal on June 23, 1927 to the late James Nuell and Mary Ann (Bell). He graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Lebanon Valley College, Annville. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Marines during World War II. Boyd worked for the Bucks County Health Department for over 25 years. Previously he worked for Wyeth Labs, where he helped develop mass production of the polio vaccine. He also taught biology and health at Southern Lehigh High School. He was a member of Grace Church of Bethlehem.
In addition to his wife of 61 years; children: Scott and his wife Leah, Todd and his wife Kim, Tim and his wife Ann, Kyle and his wife Marcy, Lynn and her husband Bear Jodre; grandchildren: Jenny, Daniel, Dominic, Willa, Jed, Emma, Kyler, Elijah, Samantha, Kane, Jackson, Greta and Beau; great-grandson: Logan.
Family and friends are invited to a memorial service at 4 p.m. Sunday, May 20, 2018 at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, 5900 Old Bethlehem Pike, Center Valley, PA 18034.
