Motorists who travel Interstate 78 West in Lower Saucon Township should expect to encounter “significant delays” for bridge dam repairs that will be taking place at various times during the weekends of Jan. 11-14 and Jan. 18-21, PennDOT announced Friday.

PennDOT said some of the repairs will be taking place during the overnight hours of 7 p.m. to 6 a.m., while some lane restrictions will remain in place 24 hours a day in the areas where the work is being performed, which will be between the Rt. 33 and Rt. 412 (Hellertown) exits.

All motorists are advised to use caution when traveling through any work zones and through traffic is advised to consider using the alternate route of Rt. 33 North to Rt. 22 West in order to avoid the work zone, PennDOT said.
