A Lower Saucon Township man has been charged with misdemeanor harassment and terroristic threats, after Lower Saucon Township Police say he allegedly texted messages threatening bodily harm to a family member late last month.
In a post on the department’s Crimewatch website Friday, police said Jacob Charles Farley, 31, was taken into custody in Upper Saucon Township on Dec. 23 before being booked on the charges at the Northampton County Central Processing Center.
The terroristic threats charge is a first-degree misdemeanor and the harassment charge is graded a third-degree misdemeanor.
According to online court records, following a preliminary arraignment Dec. 23 Farley was committed to Northampton County Prison in lieu of $8,000 straight bail, and remains incarcerated there as of Friday.
A preliminary hearing in his case is scheduled for Jan. 15 at 3:30 p.m. before District Judge Alan Mege in Lower Saucon Township.
