Hellertown Police said Monday that two people from Pennsburg are facing charges after they were allegedly found in possession of drugs following a recent traffic stop in the 1500 block of Main Street.

Hellertown Police said Monday that two people from Pennsburg are facing charges after they were allegedly found in possession of drugs following a recent traffic stop in the 1500 block of Main Street.

In a news release, police said Boyd Stitt Jr., 39, of the 800 block of Main Street, Pennsburg, and Candy B. Rumford, 37, of the 500 block of W. Fifth Street, were stopped at 2:22 a.m. Nov. 30.

After officers allegedly detected an odor of marijuana coming from inside the pair’s vehicle, police said they searched it and allegedly recovered marijuana, methamphetamine, drug paraphernalia and $730 in cash.

Both Stitt and Rumford are charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of a small amount of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia, police said.
