Charles E. Davenport, 72, of Lower Saucon Township died Monday, Jan. 21, 2019 at VNA Hospice House of St. Luke’s, Lower Saucon Township. He was the husband of Bonnie L. (Martin). Charlie was born in Newark, N.J., on Nov. 12, 1946 to the late Harold and Agnes (Gourley). He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Navy during Vietnam. He worked as a heavy-duty equipment mechanic for Solansky & Slattery in New York. Charles was an avid gardener, and enjoyed traveling, tinkering with his cars and music by the Eagles.
In addition to his wife of 49 years; daughter: Nicole A. of Lower Saucon Township. Charlie was predeceased by sister: Susan Fisher.
Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 26, 2019 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 2 p.m. Military honors will be accorded by the Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397, Hellertown.
