Police are asking for the public’s help with identifying a man who robbed a Bucks County dollar store at gunpoint, although that will likely be harder to do, since he was wearing a surgical mask at the time the crime was committed.

In a post on their Crimewatch page Wednesday, Perkasie police said the unidentified robber entered the Dollar Tree store in the Perkasie Square shopping center at 9 p.m. Tuesday–which is closing time–and enquired about composition notebooks.

“He was directed to the proper aisle,” police said. “When he approached the register, he produced a black handgun and demanded money.”

At that point, police said the man “took a male and female employee into the office where he had them empty the safe.”

He then “told the employees to enter a back room and not to come out,” police said.

“When the employees emerged, the suspect had left the area,” they added.

Police described the robber as black, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and approximately 170 pounds in weight.

At the time of the robbery, police said he was wearing a dark baseball cap, a grey long-sleeved shirt, black pants, light blue and grey Nike sneakers and a blue surgical mask.

If the man drove to the store, no description of his vehicle was available, according to police.

The Dollar Tree is located at 537 Constitution Avenue in a shopping center that contains a supermarkert and numerous other businesses.

Anyone with information about the crime or the individual responsible for it should contact Perkasie Police by calling 215-257-6876 or online, via their anonymous tipline.
