SUMMARY:Art Show - "Organic Harmony"
DESCRIPTION:“Organic Harmony” reunites transparent watercolorist Anne Landis with master metalsmith sculptor Loretta Tryon for a joint show that explores the special relationship of form\, color and nature. \nAnne is a self-taught watercolor artist whose original art work has earned awards at multiple local juried exhibits annually. The patience required for this process derives from over 30 years teaching special education\, 20 years visiting hospice patients\, leading an art therapy volunteer program and raising a family including a special needs daughter. \nShe has recently specialized in the detailed painting of true miniatures\, which are exhibited and sold in numerous juried shows throughout the United States. \nLoretta is a contemporary metalsmith based in the Lehigh Valley and is known for her elegant use of shell forming and anticlastic raising techniques. She creates sculptural works in sterling silver and bronze that blur the line between wearable art and organic form. \nLoretta’s work has been exhibited internationally and regionally\, including in Milan\, Italy\, the James A. Michener Art Museum in Doylestown\, PA\, and the State Museum of Pennsylvania. \nThe Stover Mill Gallery show runs weekends only\, starting on Saturday\, August 8 through Sunday\, August 30\, from 1 pm to 5 pm with Meet the Artist receptions the opening weekend. DESCRIPTION:This Sunday is SVFM’s SECOND ANNUAL SALSA FEST at the market! This event will highlight local salsa ingredients\, like tomatoes and peppers\, and will feature a salsa judging contest featuring recipes from some of our own market vendors. There will also be a salsa-themed raffle and FREE salsa dancing lessons by Lehigh Valley Salsa Social. \n 9am – 12pm Salsa Tasting Contest \nThe market is pleased to welcome the following vendors and each of their unique salsa recipes for you to taste and then cast your vote for the winning recipe! \nBechdolt Orchard \nBon Petit Marche \nEpic Acre Farm \nCustomers can gain entrance to the Tasting Tent by either purchasing a $5 tasting ticket or bringing a donation to Hellertown-Lower Saucon Blessing Boxes. Any donation item from this list will be accepted\, but organizers are specifically looking for the following items to be donated and will have a collection box outside the tasting tent: \n\n\ncereal \n\n\npouch tuna or other such proteins \n\n\ntoilet paper \n\n\npaper towels \n\n\nboxed milk \n\n\nany snack items (salty and sweet) \n\n\ngift cards to Giant\, Dollar General and Dollar Tree \n\n\n10-11am Salsa Dancing Lessons with Ines Maldonado of Lehigh Valley Salsa Social.
