SUMMARY:Spend an Evening in a Colonial Tavern
DESCRIPTION:Join us for “Colonial Tavern Night” in the 1761 Heller-Wagner Grist Mill\, a new addition to our country’s National Register of Historic Places. Go back to the 1700s and enjoy an evening of colonial games\, music and lively discussions about colonial taverns and their popular culture. Dine on a hearty colonial-era dinner from Saylors & Co. of Hellertown and sip Lost Tavern Brewery’s fine beer and cider\, as well as local wines. Colonial re-enactors will sit with guests and guide them through the evening’s festivities. Get into the spirit of the night and wear your own colonial attire. Our colonial-dressed volunteers will serve your food and beverages and mingle with you throughout the evening. Tickets are required and can be purchased online in advance through the HHS website or at the Society’s offices at 150 W. Walnut Street in south Hellertown. Ticket sales are limited to 42 guests. HHS members can attend the event for $35 per person\, and non-members for $45. The event is open to adults 21 years of age and older. For tickets\, go to the HHS website or email info@hhstours.org. The Tavern Room is located at 150 W. Walnut St.\, Hellertown. Parking is available adjacent to the Tavern Room and also across Walnut Street at the Saucon Rail Trail trailhead.

DESCRIPTION:Hellertown Historical Society is offering a special screening of the critically-acclaimed short film about the 1798-1799 tax revolt in Northampton\, Bucks and Montgomery counties. Macungie’s Jason Searock\, who portrays John Fries in the film\, will be in attendance to introduce the story. The event is held in the Historical Society’s Tavern Room venue located in the lower level of the historic Heller-Wagner Grist Mill building at 170 W. Walnut St.\, Hellertown PA 18055. Free off-street parking is available adjacent to the west side of the building and across Walnut Street near the Saucon Rail Trail access. Complimentary light refreshments will be offered. \nTickets and Attendance\nWe expect this event to be very popular and seating is limited to 50 persons. There is no cost to obtain tickets\, however\, you must have a ticket in order to attend. Tickets may be obtained by stopping at the HHS office during business hours\, 150 W. Walnut St.\, Hellertown PA 18055 on Tuesdays\, Thursdays and Saturdays from 9:30 a.m. to 12 noon. Or\, you may call the office at 610-838-1770 to order tickets for pick up to have mailed. If persons are unable to attend or if there is enough interest in future screenings\, the HHS will schedule them to accommodate all interested persons.
