Updated Dewey Carnival Schedule Issued; Color Run Canceled

The start of the Dewey Fire Co. 100th Anniversary Carnival is now less than a month away, and chairman Dave Heintzelman issued an updated schedule of events for the highly-anticipated six-day festival last week. In it, he noted that the planned color run has been canceled due to a lack of support. It’s possible that a color run will planned during a future carnival, he said. This year’s carnival will be held Tuesday, July 14 to Sunday, July 19 in and around Hellertown’s Dimmick Park.

100th Anniversary Extravaganza Will ‘Re-energize’ Carnival, Council Told

Fasten your seatbelts, Hellertown. The 100th anniversary Dewey Fire Company Carnival–which will be held July 14 to July 19 in and around Dimmick Park–will feature a cavalcade of events that have been planned to wow attendees and “re-energize” the venerable event, chairman Dave Heintzelman told borough council Monday. Heintzelman told council he hopes that one of the highlights of this year’s carnival–a Bikefest featuring an appearance by Orange County Choppers reality TV star Paul Teutel Sr.–will become an annual event in the borough. The presence of a large number of motorcyclists in the borough will be “a bit different for our community,” he said, and will result in some additional noise on Saturday, July 18, when the Bikefest is held. The bikers who will be attending are all “good people,” even if their mufflers are “a little loud,” he stressed.

100th Anniversary Dewey Carnival Will Feature Color Run, Bikefest

The 100th anniversary Dewey Fire Company Carnival will be held in Hellertown’s Dimmick Park and at the fire company next door from Tuesday, July 14 to Sunday, July 19, 2015. In addition to rides, games and food, this year’s carnival will feature a number of special events, such as a motorcycle festival (“Bikefest”) featuring an appearance by reality TV star Paul Teutel Sr. of Orange County Choppers, a Color Run, and the Dewey Fire Co. Centennial Carnival Celebration Cruise (a classic car show/cruise). A different concert is planned for each day of the carnival, although some of the acts have yet to be named. Traditional draws–such as the popular $20 Ride Night and a Friday night fireworks show–will also be part of the 2015 Dewey carnival.
