Hanging Baskets Stolen from Florist, Police Say

Hellertown Police said Monday that they’re investigating the theft of four large hanging flower baskets from Pondelek’s Florist & Gifts, 1310 Main St. In a news release, police said the baskets were “stolen off of the unsecured front patio area of the shop” sometime during the overnight hours of May 8-9. The baskets–which were filled with pink flowers–had a total value of $140. Anyone with information about the theft is asked to contact Hellertown Police at 610-759-2200.

Buy Spring Flowers From Saucon Valley Booster Club

The Saucon Valley Booster Club is selling flowers as a springtime fundraiser and an order form for the plants is now available. A variety of 10-inch hanging baskets (no color choice) and single color, 32-plant begonia, marigold or petunia flats are available. The hanging baskets are being sold for $17 each and the flats are available for $13 each. Four-and-a-half inch geranium pots in pink, white or red are also available for $5 each. The deadline to order flowers is Friday, April 10.
