The Greater Valley YMCA announced last week that it has been awarded a federal $3 million Community Project Funding grant for the development of the proposed Saucon Creek YMCA facility in Upper Saucon Township.
The Greater Valley YMCA will host a community forum this Wednesday, Dec. 7 at 7 p.m. in the Saucon Valley High School auditorium.
The ongoing work to open the Saucon Valley area’s first YMCA will be the subject of an upcoming Open Community Forum at Southern Lehigh High School in Center Valley.
Fountain Hill Borough recently became the latest local municipality to announce that a lifeguard shortage will impact their summer pool season. The borough will tentatively only operate their pool Friday through Sunday.
Upper Saucon Township Community Park on Preston Lane will be the home of a brand new branch of the YMCA; a facility that is expected to cost up to $15 million to build and which backers believe will ultimately help improve the health and well-being of the communities it serves.
