TV, Old Wood Illegally Dumped on Redington Road Property, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police are investigating the illegal dumping of a 27-inch TV, a pile of old wood and roof shingles on private property in the 2500 block of Redington Road. In a news release issued Monday, police said the TV and building materials were left a resident’s property near the railroad tracks sometime during the overnight hours between April 10-11. Anyone with information about the party responsible for the dumping is asked to contact township police at 610-317-6110.

Rolex, Cash Stolen from Home While Owners Slept, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police are investigating a burglary they say occurred while residents were asleep in their home on Glen View Drive. In a news release issued Saturday, police said the 37-year-old homeowner reported Friday morning “that someone had burglarized their house the night before as they slept upstairs.” Police said the burglary may have occurred around the time the family’s dog woke them up with barking, which was at 2 a.m. They did not check on the dog at the time, police added. Taken from the home were a Rolex watch, a computer and $600 in cash. Anyone with information about the burglary is asked to call township police at 610-759-2200.

Property Owner Cited for High Weeds/Grass, Police Say

Lower Saucon Township Police said Monday that the owner of a home in the 1700 block of Arden Lane was cited earlier this month for an alleged township ordinance violation related to property maintenance. In a news release, police said that after someone who was driving by the home complained, Robert Jenkinson was issued a warning “to mow and clean up” high weeds/grass on Sept. 12, but “failed to do so.” Police said Jenkinson had two months from the time of the warning to remedy the alleged violation.

LSTPD Issues 11 Citations During Rt. 378 Aggressive Driving Detail

The Lower Saucon Township Police Department issued 11 citations to motorists during an aggressive driving detail on Rt. 378 Monday between 6 and 11 a.m., the department announced via its Facebook page. According to police, a total of 13 vehicle stops were made. Citations were issued for speeding, failure to obey traffic control signals, improper passing, expired inspection and faulty equipment, police said.

Borough Man Slashed Tires, Crashed on Apples Church Road, Police Say

A Hellertown man was charged with criminal mischief, drunken driving, driving without lights to avoid police detection and other offenses after police say he slashed the tires on a truck in the 3200 block of Apples Church Road, Lower Saucon Township early Saturday, according to a story published by the Express-Times. According to court documents cited by the newspaper, 21-year-old Andrew James Hill of Laubach Street was intoxicated when he allegedly crashed his car near the scene of the reported tire-slashing, before being apprehended while allegedly driving without lights on Friedensville Road.

Boys Tricked Teen Into Sending Nude ‘Selfie,’ Police Say

Two boys from Lower Saucon Township and one from Hellertown tricked another boy into sending them a nude “selfie” by posing as a woman on a website, according to a police report cited in stories by both the Morning Call and the Express-Times. After the boys obtained the photo on Oct. 17, they allegedly forwarded it to others in the Saucon Valley School District, both newspapers reported. The three boys police say pulled the prank have reportedly been charged with transmission of sexually explicit images by a minor.
