Saucon Source Athlete of the Week, Oct. 14: Lauren Binn

Saucon Valley Senior Girls Soccer player Lauren “LB” Binn. In a 4-0 win over Moravian Academy, Lauren scored 1 goal and added 2 assists.

Against Northern Lehigh, it was 3 goals and 1 assist in their 8-0 victory and was named “Player of the Game” by Coach Stevie Ochse. LB, a midfielder, finished the week by adding 2 goals and 1 assist in a 4-0 win against Freedom. Add that all up and you have 6 goals and 4 assists in three games! In the process of accomplishing all this, she passed Quanie Lightner and became the all-time points leader at Saucon Valley! Congrats Lauren, and good luck for the rest of the season!

Side note: The Saucon girls soccer team is currently ranked fifth in the state for small schools. Keep an eye on the Panthers, as post-season play is set to begin soon!

Notable Achievements

Boys Soccer player Pat Cyphers tallied a hat trick against Colonial League opponent Northern Lehigh. The team won 7-1, which improved their league record to 7-3.

Senior Football player Zach Thatcher. There is only one word to describe his performance in Friday night’s homecoming victory over Pen Argyl: Perfect. Zach completed 7 out of 7 passes for 150 yards and 3 touchdowns!

The Field Hockey team turned in an impressive performance against Wilson, winning the game 6-1. Haley Shulte scored three goals and Helen Kreschollek filled up the stat sheet by scoring 1 goal and adding 5 assists!

Chris Fluck is a 2004 graduate of Saucon Valley High School and former high school football and wrestling coach. Currently, Chris is the owner of C. Fluck Training. He is a Strength & Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) and member of the National Strength & Conditioning Association (NSCA).
