Saturday was Week 3 for Saucon Valley youth football and cheerleading. All four levels (Flags, 90s, 110s and 130s) of the Saucon Valley Little Panthers hosted their home openers against the Salisbury Falcons. Saturday marked the third of eight regular season games.
The Saucon Valley youth coaches have once again recognized the efforts of some boys and girls participating in their programs. Saucon Source is proud to be partnering with the youth coaches and sharing these successes with you!
SV youth football is recognizing players every week with a “Panther Pride” recognition award, while cheering will choose girls for a “Panther Spirit” award.
The recognition of the kids can relate to anything from effort or enthusiasm to having a great performance. The award can identify a participant for being a good teammate or volunteering their time. It can be for any number of positive things!
The recognition is a fun and special way for the coaches to show their appreciation for the hard work and dedication the boys and girls invest in the football and cheer programs.
THIS WEEK THE SPOTLIGHT SHINES ON………..
FLAGS
Game Summary: Dylan Staub had a great game for the Panther Flags. He was all over the field. Dylan plays nose-guard and on the offensive line. Dylan pulled numerous flags today. His coaches said he played a fantastic game on both sides of the ball. Great job, Dylan! The coaches also pointed out Taylor Rohn who had a “Sportscenter moment” when he slipped out of a crazy pile of defenders and went untouched for a 55-yard touchdown. Eli Szlachtianshyn also was credited with splitting the Falcon defense in two for his 35-yard TD. Not to be outdone, AJ Sanders on a 4th & Goal ripped around the outside and into the end zone bringing the score to 18-6 Panthers. The defense really came together and kept the Salisbury offense at bay.
- Panther Pride: Dylan Staub
- Panther Spirit: Kayle Hitcho and Madison Jezick
90 POUNDERS (0-3)
Game Summary: The 90s are still looking for their first win, but don’t let that fool you. These boys are getting better and showing improvement every day. There were notable improvements on the offensive line with blocking assignments. The defense is also improving and the effort is there. Because they keep playing hard, the wins will surely come. Pierson Kanz, who plays offensive tackle, was pointed out by his coaches for being a very hard worker and very committed to his team. Keep up the hard work, Pierson. Your efforts will be rewarded!
- Panther Pride: Pierson Kanz
- Panther Spirit: Vaughn Kaye, Zoey Bokan and Megan Kuronya
110 POUNDERS (3-0)
Game Summary: 110s won again 14-0. Omar Torres had a 50-yard touchdown blast. Constantine Donahue motored to a 65-yard touchdown on a misdirection play. The Panther defense was a total team effort and totally shut down the Falcon offense. But it was Jared Rohn who was recognized with a great all-around game. Congrats to all!

130 POUNDERS (1-2)
Game Summary: The Panther 130s won 20-0. The defense was all over the field smothering the Falcon offense. The defense was led by the tackle tandem of Andy Kehs and Cael Markle. Linebackers Tyler Pfizenmayer, Brent Malick, Travis Riefenstahl and Nate Mondshein made their presence felt tracking down the Falcon ball carriers. Offensively, the Panthers relied on the strong running of Brent Malick, Tyler Pfizenmayer (TD) and Josh Torres (2 TDs). Jake Kalinchok added one of the extra points for the Panthers. The special teams were led by the hard-hitting Julien Newhart, who made a couple bone-crunching tackles. The highlight of the game may have been the leaping catch by Jacob Clements on a well-placed throw from quarterback Anthony Orlemann for an extra point.

- Panther Spirit: Leandre Ortiz and Lili Kubisek
