Walter H. Gubler, 93, of Coopersburg died in Lehigh Valley Hospital Thursday, Oct. 13, 2016. Born Oct. 23, 1922 in Frauenfeld, Switzerland, he was the son of Walter Gubler and Ella (Schelling) Gubler. He received a degree in Political Economy from the Universities of Geneva and Zurich and a degree from the Bernard Baruch School of Business in New York City. He was selected by the Swiss government as a member of the Swiss Delegation of the Neutral Nations Supervisory Commission in North and South Korea. In 1955 he immigrated to New York City, where he met and married his wife, Thalia V. Voigt, in 1961. He was owner of the family business, Office Maintenance Services Inc., for 27 years, retiring in 1994.

Survivors: In addition to his wife are two sons: Eric of Coopersburg, Rolf and wife Amy of Luray, Va.; four grandchildren: Jacqueline, Emilie, Klaire and Charles. He was predeceased by a brother, Max Gubler, formerly of Olten, Switzerland.

A gathering of remembrance at his cherished country home will be announced at a later date.
