Jean D. Lorah, 81, of Upper Saucon Township died Saturday, April 22, 2017 as a result of an automobile accident in Bucks County. She was the wife of the late Lester R. Lorah, who died 2011. She was born in East Union Township, Schuylkill County, on Sept. 14, 1935 to the late Allen and Carrie (Bley) Deebel. Jean was a registered nurse at the former Zohlman Nursing Home, Richlandtown for many years, until her retirement. She was a member of Zion Evangelical Lutheran Church, Zion Hill (Quakertown). Jean was a passionate reader and an avid Scrabble player. She found happiness in her gardening (playing in the dirt) and tending to her flowers. Her greatest joys were her daughters and their families.

Daughters: Kathy L. (David) Beltz of Quakertown, Susan I. of Bethlehem, Diane L. (James) Gavin of Coopersburg; brother: James (Lorraine) of Lehighton; grandchildren: Cassie DuPuis, Matthew and Joshua Beltz, Carrie Maness, Danny and Ben Gavin; great-grandchildren: Shepherd Beltz and Baby DuPuis.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 27, 2017 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. Continued visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 106 W. Main St., Ringtown, followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment will conclude services at Girard Manor Cemetery, East Union Township, Schuylkill Co.
