Panther Sports Spring Preview: Boys and Girls LAX

Est. Read Time: 4 mins

Weather or not, the show must go on!

The weather conditions indicate otherwise, but, believe it or not, SPRING HAS SPRUNG!  What that means for the wonderful world of Saucon Valley School District sports is that Baseball, Softball, Lacrosse, Tennis and Track are now under way.

According to Saucon Valley Athletic Director, Bob Frey, a total of 361 Panther student-athletes have registered and are roaring to go for the start of the 2018 PIAA Spring season!

Panther Athletics Spring sports breakdown (# of participants)!

  • A.D. EXTRA:  Panther Athletics is in need of 6-8 volunteers to work the two Varsity Track meets on April 5th and 10th. Volunteers are needed to assist with working events and recording results. No prior experience or knowledge is required.  Clearances are free.  Please contact the athletic office if you are interested!

On a frigid day of practice, Panther junior CJ Stump pushes the ball up field.

Like so many others who are tired of feeling the stubborn chill of winter, Saucon Source, too, is ready for change.  So, in anticipation of the new sports season heating up, we are thrilled to provide our readers with previews of the different Panther sports.  Today, Saucon Source gives you a little snapshot of the Panther lacrosse programs.  Check it out!

Only when we perfect the fundamentals can we then add in the higher levels of lacrosse. Our goal is to be better than we were last year. The team has been working very hard individually. Each one of the girls has been working out in the gym weightlifting, improving their cardio stats, and working together on new plays. The only way to beat the teams out of the Philadelphia area is to improve exponentially. I believe the girls will show as a different team this year”.
  • Top Competition:  “Every team has been working hard this year.  We would like to beat the teams that we have not been able to in the past.  We face Emmaus, Pennridge and Easton in our first few games”.

Good luck Panthers, the Source is with you!
