Bruce E. Ferris, 71, of Salisbury Township died Tuesday, June 18, 2019, at St. Luke’s University Hospital, Bethlehem. He was the beloved husband of Maureen (Phalon) Ferris. Bruce was born in Hanson, Mass., on Sept. 1, 1947, to the late Edward and Rose (Cohen) Ferris. He served our country faithfully in the U.S. Air Force during Vietnam. He worked as a truck driver for Modern Concrete Co., Ottsville. Through many moves and careers, the great constant in Bruce’s life was the deep love he had for his family and his constant support of his wife Maureen and her passion for horses and helping others.

SURVIVORS

In addition to his wife of 34 years; children: Bruce “Alec” (Kasee) of Slatington and Lindsay Van Assen (Sean) of Wind Gap; siblings: Gloria Reynolds of Spring Hill, Fla., George Ferris of Kingston, Mass., and Lawrence Ferris of Forsyth, Mo.; grandchildren: Jaxon and Wesley. He was predeceased by sisters: Janice and Barbara.

SERVICE

Family and friends are invited to call from 3 to 5 and from 7 to 9 p.m. on Monday, June 24, 2019, and from 9:30 to 10 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25, 2019, at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. A service will follow the Tuesday morning calling hour. It will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Online expressions of sympathy can be recorded at HeintzelmanCares.com. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
