Louise I. Smetzer, 89, of Hellertown and formerly of Springtown, died Monday, July 20, 2015 at Saucon Valley Manor, Hellertown. She was the wife of the late Paul L. Smetzer (died April 1979). Born in Durham Township to the late Maynard R. and Laura A. (Dimmig) Seifert, Louise was a member of Springfield Mennonite Church. Louise loved music and enjoyed being with animals. During the ’50s she worked at the former Hellertown Manufacturing (Champion Spark Plugs), and she was also an Avon representative for many years.
SURVIVORS
Son: Jay R. Smetzer and his wife Rosemary of Lenhartsville. She was predeceased by her daughter, Sharon L. Smetzer, who died Jan. 20, 2015.
SERVICES
Services will be private, and there will be no calling hours. Arrangements are by the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., Hellertown.
