Leon D. “Zeke” Wohlbach, 91, of Hellertown, died Sunday, March 6, 2016 at LifeQuest Nursing Center, Quakertown. He was the husband of the late Dorothy P. (Lichtenwalner) Wohlbach (died Jan. 19, 1996). He was born in Lower Saucon Township on March 14, 1924 to the late Dorsey M. and Mabel M. (Frey) Wohlbach. A very proud veteran of World War II, he served faithfully in the U.S. Army 17th Airborne division. Leon was a test foreman at the former Bethlehem Steel Co. for 37.5 years until retiring in 1979. He also helped on the family farm for many years. He was a member of St. Luke’s Old Williams Lutheran Church, Edward H. Ackerman American Legion Post 397 and VFW Post 3094, all of Hellertown.

Children: Leon F. of Zionsville, Dennis J. of Hellertown, Debra (Frank) Bokan of Bowmanstown, Leona (Charles) Glassmeyer of Girardsville; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and companion: Helen Harrison of Allentown. He was predeceased by son: David; brothers: Lester, Maynard and Stanley; sisters: Edna Koder, Miriam Stever, Anna Judd, Gloria R. Wolhbach, Grace P. Crouse and Helen Huber Breisch.
SERVICE
Family and friends are invited to call from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 9, 2016 at the Heintzelman Funeral Home Inc., 326 Main St., Hellertown. The calling hour will be followed by the service at 11 a.m. The interment with military honors will conclude services at Union Cemetery of Hellertown.
