A gaggle of geese who decided to cross Rt. 378 during the morning rush hour Monday brought traffic to a halt and inadvertently contributed to a hit-and-run crash, Lower Saucon Township Police said Wednesday in a news release.
According to police, traffic stopped for the birds near Seidersville Road and Rt. 378 at 8:40 a.m.
A Bethlehem man who was southbound on Rt. 378 stopped and was subsequently rear-ended by the driver of a silver sedan, who then “fled the scene,” police said.
Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call township police at 610-317-6110.
In a separate news release police said an Allentown woman rear-ended a car on Rt. 378 Monday morning at 8:34 a.m., at a time when “other vehicles were stopping for a road hazard.”
Police did not specify what the road hazard was, but said the woman will be cited for allegedly following too closely.
