A man who Lower Saucon Township Police say was the responsible driver in a May 2 hit-and-run crash in the parking lot of Exxon, 3655 Rt. 378, was identified after a surveillance photo taken inside the convenience store was posted by police on Facebook Saturday, and paint transfer as well as surveillance footage from the gas station parking lot subsequently confirmed his involvement, police said in a news release Sunday.
Lower Saucon Township Police said Friday the man wearing a Scout leader-style uniform at right is a suspect in a minor hit-and-run accident that occurred May 2 at Exxon, 3655 Rt. 378. On Sunday police said he was identified as a Center Valley man.
According to police, Kenneth Golden, of the 4300 block of Old Bethlehem Pike, Center Valley, backed into the front of a car that was refueling at a gas pump as he was leaving the gas station/convenience store.
“Kenneth then drove away from the crash as the other driver tried to stop him,” police said.
“Kenneth admitted to being at the station but stated he was unaware he had struck the other vehicle,” they added.
Police said, however, that paint transfer on Golden’s car matched that of the other vehicle involved “as well as matched the location on the vehicle where he was seen to strike the other car in a security video from the station.”
Golden is charged with Limitations on Backing in an Automobile, a PA motor vehicle code violation, police said.
