Gold Medal Flours Recalled Following E.coli Outbreak

Following a recall by General Mills Inc., GIANT Food Stores announced Saturday that it has removed from stores Gold Medal flour products potentially linked to an outbreak of E. coli 0121.

The following products are included in the recall:

“Although most strains of E.coli are harmless, others can make you sick,” the news release said. “E.coli O121 is a potentially deadly bacterium that can cause bloody diarrhea and dehydration. Seniors, the very young and persons with compromised immune systems are the most susceptible to foodborne illness.”

Customers who have purchased any of the recalled products should discard unused portions and bring their purchase receipt to any Giant store for a full refund.
